The word "detox" is gaining popularity in the wellness community, especially when it comes to dieting and taking care of your body. While detoxification has many benefits, there is also a lot of misinformation that is unhealthy. One of the remarkable abilities God has given to our bodies is the ability to adapt very quickly to our lifestyle, but we can also reach the point where this lifestyle is no longer sustainable. It has both good and bad sides. The downside is that unhealthy habits can become so routine and part of your daily routine that you may not even be aware of the symptoms or signs your body is giving you to stop and change your habits.

Let's start with the definition of detox: the process or period of time during which a person removes or removes toxic or unhealthy substances from the body; detoxification. We could all use some detoxing in our walks of life, right? Getting rid of habits, situations, and even people in our lives that cause us stress and making choices that are not good for us physically and mentally.

A physical detox that cuts out what is not needed for our body can boost energy levels, speed up metabolism, support digestion and weight control, reduce inflammation and free radical damage, promote healthy skin, strengthen the immune system, help sleep better and reduce premenopausal symptoms.

1. Add color to your diet. Top fruits and vegetables full of vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. Eating a diet rich in healthy foods can lead to better cardiovascular health, lower cancer risk, improved vision, reduced risk of diabetes and improved gastrointestinal health (to name but a few). Part of the healthy detox is to get rid of the bad build-up in our body, and the natural fiber found in fruits and vegetables can help us cleanse our digestive system. 2. Cut sugars – even artificial ones. Too much sugar causes inflammation in our bodies, which is a huge health problem and can be the root cause of many health problems. 3. Hydrate. Our body is made up of 70% water, so staying hydrated is one of the most important and effective ways to detoxify not only your body but also your brain and other organs. Here are some fun facts about the body water ratio: The brain and heart are 73% water and the lungs are about 83% water, the skin contains 64% water, the muscles and kidneys are 79%, and even the bones are watery at 31%. Here's your hydration problem: Drink at least 64 ounces of water (more is better) per day. You can also spice things up so that H2O doesn't get bored with fresh fruits and herbs, like crushed fresh peppermint. Sparkling water and flavored water have become increasingly popular, but make sure you read the ingredients. No added sugars or artificial sugars such as saccharose, artificial ingredients or coloring should be added. Only carbonated water should be listed in the ingredients.

4. Limit the screen time. In the age of technology we live in, we are connected to 24/7 information that is not good for us. We need time every day to get our brains loose. We often claim that we do not have time to think and pray to spend quality time with God, but in reality we always have too much information and talk. It takes discipline, but set aside at least 2 hours each day, removing your attention, such as your computer, phone, TV, and other device to open your Bible or walk. Give your soul batteries time to recharge and rejuvenate.

5. Spend time with God. The more you spend time with God, the more you will know Him and the more your faith will grow. The Bible tells us that those who know him believe in him. "Those who know your name, trust in you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." Sat 9:10 am If you do not spend quality time with God every day, how can you truly find out about Him?

Every day you could spend time with Him reading your Bible, at church, chatting with him on the hiking trail, or during training sessions where you could put your health struggles at the foot of the cross. Just when we deliberately place our hearts and eyes on Christ, we grow deeper into Him. By knowing Him and trusting in the truth of His word, we relinquish Him our fears and reduce the stress that physically, mentally, and spiritually destroys us.
