Finding Joy in Uncertain Times - Catherine Marion

In these new and challenging times, being healthy is key. We know we have to keep moving, sleeping and eating enough … but finding joy is as important to our mental health as exercising for physical health.

This season usually leads to patio lunches, gardening and Easter dinners with the family. Good news? Social distancing does not mean you have to lose them!

Whether you have a large backyard or a small balcony, you can still sit down to lunch. You may not be able to buy new plants yet, but you can start cleaning your garden. And why not connect with those you usually spend time with Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime?

On your next important grocery store trip, you may want to buy a new temporary hair dye or a new nail polish, or even fresh flowers for your home. Perhaps you will enjoy the deep cleaning of the car inside and out. Hey, maybe you're thinking about rearranging your kitchen / garage and finally you have time!

When we stay home and do something for our community, both locally and globally, try to remember all the little things that bring you joy and find a way to incorporate them into your daily life, because your personal well-being is important too!
