Instant Pot Salsa Chicken – Carmy


This is the simplest recipe for chopped chicken! This instant sweet salsa chicken takes just a few ingredients and can be used in any of your next tako, burrito or appetizer.

Quickly chopped Salsa chicken

Using a quick pan leads to some particularly moist chopped chicken and is the easiest way to make chopped chicken! Chopped chicken is one of my recipes when I eat a dinner table or when it's Taco Tuesday and I need to get something on the table quickly.

Quick or natural release is welcome for this recipe. I find the results are the same, it just depends on whether I'm in a hurry or not.

What you need to make chopped Salsa chicken

Instantly chopped salsa chicken ingredients: chicken breasts, spices, salsa

  • Chicken breast: Boneless, skinless breasts
  • water
  • seasoning: garlic powder, chilli powder, salt, paprika, oregano
  • salsa: Go as sweet or spicy as you want! Personally, I use average.

Close the lid, adjust the valve to seal and let it be manually applied for 6 minutes.

How to use chopped chicken

Chopped instant chicken is also great if you have it, as it is ideal for a damp chopped chicken to throw in soup, salad or if you want to add more protein to your meal. Here are some ideas for using chopped chicken:

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.

Store shredded chicken breasts in the freezer for up to three months. I like to freeze them 1 cup / 1 in the freezer bags so I can just pull out what I need to defrost.

Tips and Notes

You can use the KitchenAid mixer to shred breasts quickly and easily.

This chopped chicken recipe was tested only with the DUO Plus 60, 6 Qt 9-in-1 Quick Pouch.

Be sure to coat the salsa chicken. I find that layered ingredients help prevent burns.
