Why it is important to have passions

If you've ever felt like life doesn't make much sense or if you're drifting aimlessly, you're missing out on true passion. Keeping a passion in your life is often the secret to finding true happiness, and for countless reasons.

If you want to know what true passion means and why it is so important, read and re-read what really matters.

What is passion?

When we talk about passions, we are not talking about sex.

Of course, it is important to have a passion in your relationship, and that is one type of passion, but it is not the only passion.

Passion then refers to everything you feel very excited about and everything that makes you eagerly get out of bed in the morning. Everyone has different passions and there is no limit to what you can be passionate about or how many passions you can have.

For some, music is a burning passion that drives them, for others it is more about teaching or math or Star Trek.

Really, it doesn't matter what you're passionate about, but the important thing is that you have things that make you feel completely excited and that make you feel that way about them.

Why is passion so important?

Why is this so important?

For starters, passion – even what other people are not excited about – offers you a lot of anticipation and interest. Even if your passion is just action movies, it means you can do something in the evenings (watch old action movies) and things to look forward to (Expendables 4).

Passions also tell us about ourselves and they make us grow. If you are passionate about music, practice playing an instrument that will help you develop dexterity, sense of time, rhythm and creativity – and that will make you more attractive even to the opposite sex.

Records can also give us direction in life. If you feel passionate about stopping global warming, it will give you a mission. You no longer simply live a day-to-day life, but work for a purpose and for your own good. It makes people feel motivated and important.

So if you don't know what it is, you're asking the wrong question. The question should be: what is it for you?

Time to find out.
